Mookerji Innovation Fund (MIF) Program
At KSU
Our Impact Report on fostering student and alumni entrepreneurship.
Introduction
The Mookerji Innovation Fund (MIF) was established in 2021 to provide Kennesaw State University (KSU) students and recent alumni with seed capital to
launch scalable, fundable ventures across all disciplines. This fund plays a pivotal role in enabling many first-generation college students to access essential capital for testing concepts, building prototypes, conducting customer discovery, and refining product-market fit. Without our support, many aspiring entrepreneurs would lack the financial resources to pursue these critical startup activities.
Program Strategy & Structure
Venture Capital Best Practices
Our program follows best practices from the venture capital
community, focusing on funding ventures based on their market
potential rather than the quality of presentation. We offer mentorship
and coaching to student entrepreneurs, assisting in team development and business organization to accelerate growth effectively.
Evaluation Process
Participants apply to our program with a basic level of pre-work, meet
with an advisor, and prepare for a venture capital-style presentation. A panel of external business professionals evaluates funding requests and determines investment levels based on the venture's stage and needs.
Three-Stage Funding Model
Concept Validation
Customer and solution prototypes.
Business Model Validation
Refining and validating revenue and
operational models.
Customer Growth Acceleration
Expanding market reach and scaling
operations.
