“Providing an opportunity for all children to get quality education”

The Mookerji Foundation will work towards creating a world where all children have access to education that will give them the best chance to succeed in life. We will do so by taking on projects to improve schools, providing tutoring and financially enabling children in need. We will do so worldwide focusing on the most underprivileged children everywhere.

Founded in 2007, The Mookerji Foundation works in two primary areas:

1. The Socio-Economic Upliftment of Underprivileged Communities, particularly children

2. Fostering Entrepreneurship

The Mookerji Foundation has undertaken several projects to provide relief to those in distress all over the world. Consistent themes are supporting the education and well-being of children, and providing support to old-age homes.

Examples of projects undertaken are:

1. Providing food, medicine, and diapers to the Jyoti Nivas old-age home run by "The Little Sisters of the Poor" in Mysuru, India. The Foundation awarded the KK Mookerji award of one lakh rupees to the Little Sisters of the Poor, with which they were able to procure many beds for the inmates at the home. Many Mookerji Foundation volunteers spend quality time with the elderly inmates to keep them company.

2. Taking care of all operational costs of Shaktidhama Women and Girls Rehabilitation Center in Mysuru, India.

3. Supporting HCC - Himalayan Children's Charity (https://www.hccnepal.org/) by adopting orphans sheltered by HCC.

4. Supporting Sewa International across multiple initiatives.

The Mookerji Foundation also supports causes that promote entrepreneurship worldwide. Examples of projects undertaken include:

1. Supporting the establishment of a "Retail Tech" vertical at Georgia Tech's ATDC Incubator.

2. Supporting student entrepreneurs at Kennesaw State University via the establishment of the Mookerji Innovation Fund.

3. Help establish the Atlanta chapter of the Creative Destruction Lab as a "Founding Partner".

4. Support TiE Atlanta across multiple initiatives.

Past projects have included supporting multiple schools mostly in India, conducting cleanliness and blood drives. Most of these have been conducted in cities in India.

The Mookerji Foundation also took on Water Distribution at the world-famous Mysore Dasara procession for several years. Over 150 volunteers showed up at 6:00 am on the morning of the procession ready to distribute food, water, and snacks to the parade participants and security personnel.
